Speakers have been announced for SoilsCon 2024, marking the conference’s return after a four year hiatus.
The one-day conference will make its return this year on Wednesday 28 February, with a focus on practical approaches and solutions to the key soil issues and challenges facing industry today.
The speakers are Tim O’Hare, principal of Tim O’Hare Associates, Tim White, senior associate at Tim O’Hare Associates, Helen Elks-Smith FSDG, principal, Elk-Smith Landscape & Garden Design, and Dr Iain Gould, associate professor in soil science at the University of Lincoln.
Jennifer Mui CMLI, director of MRG Studio, Katherin Iles, senior geotechnical engineer and Ryan Coghlan, senior landscape architect at ARUP, and Kevin Barton CMLI FLI, director of Robert Bray Associates.
The speaker line-up will cover a range of topical subjects, these have been revealed to be soil health and functions in landscapes – a practical approach, solid considerations for the delivery of Biodiversity Net Gain, and maintaining soil quality in garden construction.
Along with organic matter and soil quality, low-fertility soils in climate change-resilient landscapes, the use of biochar and dolerite in the landscape and hard-working soils: the challenges of bioretention rain garden soils.
This year’s conference will also include a Soil Surgery, with members of the Tim O’Hare Associates team on hand to help attendees with specific soil issues.
SoilsCon 2024 is supported by a number of industry soil and landscape supply firms, including British Sugar TOPSOIL, Green-tech, Bury Hill Landscape Supplies, Bourne Amenity, and Rolawn, all of whom will be exhibiting their products on the day.
