‘Giving back’ will be the theme of the Society of Garden Designers’ takeover of the Inspire Theatre at this year’s FutureScape.

Three talks will take place at the event on 16 October at the ExCeL London from members of the association, all centred about the SGD’s commitment to encourage biodiversity and lower the carbon footprint in the gardens it designs and creates by the use of upcycled and recycled materials.

Mark Laurence will explore the complex relationships between trees, gardens, people, ecosystems and climate, followed by Wendy Allen explaining how a garden designer can ensure a successful SuDS scheme.

SGD chair Andrew Duff will host the final talk of the day – a panel discussion focused around sustainability. He’ll be joined by Laurence and Allen as well as fellow garden designers David Stevens and Helen Elks-Smith.
