The Royal Pavilion Garden in the heart of Brighton secures a £4m grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund with the help of LUC.

The grant, awarded to Brighton and Hove City Council and Brighton and Hove Museums, aims to restore the garden to its former Regency glory by using the original planting plans created for George IV, for whom the estate was built for in 1787 to 1822.

It will also seek to rehabilitate wildlife, repair and conserve the historic structures and improve public access throughout the estate.

LUC’s Landscape Management and Maintenance Plan played a crucial role in guiding the proposals through design changes.

In total, Brighton and Hove City Council will receive a grant of £4,369,755 for the project which aims to remove the Royal Pavilion Gardens from Historic England’s At Risk Register.

LUC says its involvement marks a “commitment to sustainable landscape management” that ensures “the garden’s beauty endures for generations.”
