Walsall Town Centre is undergoing a series of improvements as part of the borough’s £1.5bn programme of investment.

The £11.4m Connected Gateway project will reconfigure the walkway between the railway and bus stations in Park Street, making it straighter and wider for a more ‘attractive arrival experience.’

‘More greenery’ will be added here and in Gallery Square. There are also further plans to enhance the public realm.

The plans have been made possible through a cash injection from the Future High Streets fund and investment from Walsall Council. The first phase of construction is due to start this spring/summer.

The overall £1.5bn programme of investment is predicted to create more than 4000 jobs and see the construction of more than 1000 new hopes.
