Peter Donegan is returning to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show this year with a design focusing on the challenges veterans can face when they leave the Air Force.
The Irish garden designer won a Gold medal at last year’s show with Melbourne-based landscape contractor Semken Landscaping, which will be joining him again for his upcoming garden this spring.

A Moment in Time – Presented by Daisy’s Garden Supplies
A Moment in Time – Presented by Daisy’s Garden Supplies is set in South-Eastern Australia and journeys a veteran pilot returning home and the mental difficulties they might be facing. A fragmented path leads to an aged wood cabin with a grassed roof. There will be a Piper PA-28 Cherokee plane which Donegan says is a project that the veteran started before he left and so is incomplete in its repair.
As well as designing the show’s featured garden, Donegan will also be returning as a judge this year.
The Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show is being held at the Royal Exhibition Building & Carlton Gardens, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, from 20-24 March 2024.
