Pro Landscaper 30 under 30

The winners have been announced for Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30: The Next Generation 2021. The initiative, sponsored by Green-tech, is now in its seventh year. It aims to recognise, reward, and promote the young rising stars in the UK’s landscaping industry.

Pro Landscaper’s managing director Jim Wilkinson said: “It’s been another unbelievable year, and the quality of young people working in the sector has been really proving.

“There can be a lot of negativity surrounding encouraging the next generation into the landscaping industry – but we must be doing something right somewhere as the 30 new winners are stars of the future.

“The 30 under 30 awards have come a long way, going from strength to strength. We are delighted to recognise another 30 members, and we welcome them to the Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30: The Next Generation group.

“Congratulations to everyone! We look forward to watching you progress in your careers.”

Entrants were judged and scored on their passion, skills, qualifications, achievements, goals, their message to young people looking to join the industry and their thoughts on what could make the landscaping industry better.

Raising environmental awareness, tackling climate change and focusing on sustainability were high on the agenda from all the entries, and there was a real desire for wanting to make a difference.

Richard Kay, chairman of sponsor Green-tech, said: “We are delighted to sponsor Pro Landscaper’s 30 Under 30: The Next Generation. It is one of the most valuable industry initiatives that recognises, encourages and celebrates the remarkable talent of the younger generation. Turning the spotlight on this group and raising the profile as a career choice is critical to the future success and growth of the landscaping, horticulture, and forestry industries. It provides a great springboard for winners, and we take great interest in watching their careers develop.”

The class of 2021 brings the total to 210 winners for the Pro Landscaper 30 Under 30: The Next Generation since the initiative launched in 2015.

This year, the award ceremony will take place at FutureScape 2021 on Tuesday 16 November 2021 at ExCeL London, in the Pro Landscaper Theatre.

Propelled into the landscaping limelight, previous winners have gone on to design, build and win Gold medals at RHS Chelsea Flower Shows, set up their own businesses and enhance their own careers.
