Plans have been submitted for a new sustainable home development on Raleigh Road in Bristol.

In a planning application put forward by the Hill Group, over 100 new sustainable homes of mixed capacity will cover the 3.5-acre site, linking to the surrounding area with two new tree-lined access roads.

The proposal includes the instalment of permeable paving, green roofs and rain gardens to boost the site’s biodiversity, while underwater tanks will be installed below ground to minimise surface water run-off.

Hill aims to achieve over 20% biodiversity net gain on this development.

Andy Hill OBE, group chief executive of The Hill Group, comments: “There is an acute housing shortage in Bristol, particularly for family homes. We have worked with the local Southville community to ensure our planning application for the Amerind Grove site will help address local housing needs.”

The construction phase of development will also provide the community with employment and training opportunities.
