Chester based landscape architect Land Studio has been awarded three new projects.
The environmental design practice, which celebrates its eighth anniversary this month, has been selected by the National Trust to carry out improvement works across its gardens at Grade I listed Sizergh Castle in Cumbria.
The project will involve making the castle gardens more inclusive and user friendly in all seasons.
Additionally, Land Studio is now a part of the team working to deliver Wrexham Glyndŵr University’s new Enterprise Engineering and Optics Centre (EEOC) on their Plas Coch campus in Northop, Flintshire.
The over £8m centre will support manufacturing businesses in the region to decarbonise, with the Land Studio team to provide the landscaping for the site, as well as aiding in coordinating the biodiversity assessments with Wynne Construction, the primary contractors.
Lastly the Land Studio will be working on the design and access for a proposed £11m development at Petty Pool College in Northwich.
Pending approval, the outdoor education college will cater for 160 young people who have learning disabilities and difficulties.
Land Studio’s primary design objectives are to create inspirational and educational spaces for the pupils, staff and visitors to enjoy- providing important connections with the surrounding 40-acre woodland.

Simon Richards, founder of Land Studio in Chester.
Managing director of Land Studio, Simon Richards says: “Two of the areas we specialise in are education and historic settings, so we’re delighted to win these three new exciting projects.
“We’re seeing an increased demand across the country for a nature-led design approach which champions climate solutions, enhances biodiversity and creates inspiring spaces for people to enjoy and feel connected with their surroundings.
“Our team is continuing to grow and we’re currently looking for experienced landscape architects and graduates to join us.”
